Apistogramma cacatuoides and how to care for them
To care for apistogramma cacatuoides successfully, the right tank set-up is vital. Apistogramma Cacatuoides tend to live in harem communities with one male apisto cacatuoide (as it’s otherwise known as) to several females. Male apisto cacatuoides can be territorial, so it’s essential to have a large enough tank to account for each community. As such, a tank of at least 30 gallons is recommended, with plenty of plant life as well as rocks, wood and roots to provide hiding places for weaker apisto cacatuoides. However, although sometimes territorial, apistogramma cacatuoides are usually a peaceful breed of tropical fish that will get on well in communities with other dwarf cichlids, catfish or schooling fish varieties, as long as there’s enough room in the tank to accommodate.
