Boredom and Inertia
Boredom is probably the biggest day job killer of all time. You may start out liking the place you work at. Maybe you were even all excited when you were hired. Then you go through a year or more of getting up early, fighting the rush hour crowds, doing the same at the end of the day, doing the same things at your desk hour after hour, and you’re just bored to tears. Where is the excitement you thought you’d find when you were so eager to get out of school. At least all your friends were there! That’s why so many of us are leaving our day jobs for free-lance work. But a couple of things to watch out for….make sure you’ve got a skill you can sell out there and make sure you have some sort of health insurance you’ll be able to afford.
